Ok. long time, no see....
Got away from updating the blog. So the update is below...
Lucas has been busy with the demands of 4th grade homework, all while earning his Webelos badge in Scouts. He is preparing to become a boyscout.

Cullen has adjusted to first grade finally. Loosing 3 teeth in the last two weeks, he is growing up fast! Cullen is also in cub scouts, and is close to putting his first year under his belt, earning his tiger cub badge.

Joel has been busy working and building (of course). He managed to find time to sprain his ankle and still keep going. (You don't realize how much crap you carry with you until you loose the use of your foot/leg.)

I have been busy building as well, installing cement board for tile installation at Mom's house, and finally putting that hole in my kitchen wall that I've wanted for years. (Everyone seems to love it) (the hole, I mean :) I have also finally found my creative calling. Glass beads are for me! After taking a couple of lampwork bead classes, I am totally hooked. Slowly but surely I'll be able to have my own home studio.

The Dog Whisperer

Thank you Aunt Bonnie, for the Dog Whisperer CD's. They are GRrrrrEAT! (As Tony the tiger would say).

Caesar (the dog whisperer) is a fellow who knows his dogs.
Three great important things to remember about dogs and helping their behavior:

Exercise
Obedience
Affection

Oh yeah, a tired dog is a happy dog.
Spending more time as the Alpha (me), will help my dogs get along better.
So, this morning, I drug my but out of bed early and ran the dogs to island lake park.
And so far, so good. It seems to be working. (At least it will get me to exercise!)

Lucas and Cullen literally "Climb the Wall!"

Both kids amazed me by climbing the outside wall of a two story building.
Each one climbed to the top several times and rang the bell.

Of course, I watched from the safety of the street below. My climbing days are over!

3rd block of classes under my belt!
I am well on my way through the first half of my associates degree and I expect to graduate in May of '07. I have to say, online classes are the way to go when you are smack dab in the middle of raising a family. I am also about to tackle my first online math class.

ICE SKATING ON BRIGGS LAKE

The sky was clear, the sun was out and we were out to have fun! Joel, Annmarie, Lucas and Cullen blew the dust off their skates and headed over to Ken's nicely manicured ice rink, tow doors down from our lake house.

The weather has cooperated and provided the 30 degrees or below that was required to freeze the ice on the lake. Ken does a great job, as the rink has removable nets to play hockey, boards to keep the puck on the ice and lights to skate at night.

We had a good hour of fun.

Then, my skates came apart from the soles. I guess I should have expected this since they have been stored in the garage and not been used for more than a few years.

The unfortunate part.....
Joel fell when he was aiming a slap shot and you guessed it..... He broke his arm. After all the boo boo's that Cullen has had over the last year, we were surprised that Joel would be the one to injure himself today. After a trip to the E.R. he is in a temporary cast awaiting a visit to the orthopedic doctor where they will put a more permanent cast on.

To all those concerned, Joel is o.k. and trying to type two handed already. Did I mention, he fell on his writing arm? That should be interesting. I'm sure he'll be comming up with new and unusual ways to get work done. Dictation you say? When he gets frustrated enough, he'll ask. :)

This is short lived when they look out the door and find out that the "Men in Black" Alien Attack ride is just across the street.

Two jumping beans! Here, the boys try out the trampoline Grammy helped us find. We had just set it up before dark, they could not wait until the next day. So, they talked me into letting them jump a few times before bed. (What a sucker)

They had a blast. Of course, the trampoline is now covered in snow. This picture just inspired some wishful thinking for summer to be here again. :)
